Hitting The Wall

As I mentioned earlier, I was in Oklahoma City last weekend doing some construction for my Mom.

My close friend Dean was foolish enough to volunteer to come and help me, and I'm glad he did. (Well, okay, that's a bit of an understatement. Replace "glad" with "Freaking Ecstatic.") It was great to spend some time with a friend I rarely see - even if I did work him like an indentured servant.

We put in a reasonable 8 hours on Friday, mainly tearing down the old wall, drawing up a design, and getting materials before putting in twenty-some hours over the next two days hustling to get almost finished.

I put together an action-packed photo gallery of my trip and the project. Take a look if you're interested:

Very nicely done gentlemen!

I think "the client" got better than new. Those 4x4's will really support the fence, and hanging the gate on the house instead of the fence was a smart move.

Are you available for hire? (We have a Sonic just less than 5 minutes away!)

"The Client" is well pleased!

I was really impressed with their work - nothing slap-dash about it AND the new wall looks and is great. They had the only weather-free weekend all month. Hot.

We were able to contribute all of the debris to a friend's "burn pile" in the country. That simplified clean-up. I do want it on the record that they didn't eat all of their meals at Sonic.

Even tho' it is made of wood, I don't think the big bad wolf could blow it down.

Your MOM had to drive you to the ball game? Sad. But wait, your Mom left you chocolate beaters?! Your mom ROCKS!

Unfortunately that's the one thing I can't offer you as payment for hiring you to do some work at my house... great Mom-cooked meals and chocolate beaters.

I must say that I agree with Mister P... your Mom ROCKS! (She rocked when we were in grade school, and she still rocks today. Amazing!)

Oh, well. I guess I'll have to clean out the garage myself.
