Ho Hum, Yankees Again

So the Yankees knocked off the Red Sox last night, seemingly because Grady Little forgot he had a bullpen. This is disappointing.

I would have liked to see somebody else representing the AL in the World Series, but what I'm really going to miss is this season's Steinbrenner Freakout.

If the Yankees had fallen short of the World Series this year, who knows what kind of hilarity would have ensued? It would have made for a fun offseason.

My prediction for the Fall Classic? Yankees in five, coupled with record-low television ratings.

As I recall, someone else DID represent the AL in the series last year. The Yanks got their ears pinned back by a bunch of guys in red hats. Where were those guys this year?

Ho Hum? This was one of the most dramatic ALCS, and certainly one of the most dramatic game sevens, in a long time. If you can look past anti-pinstripe bias, the curse of the bambino, double-dumbass Grady, and Zim's diatribe against Boss George after the game, what's left is one hell of a game that wrapped up one hell of a series.

Red hats? That does sound familiar...

Yes, it was a dramatic series - no doubt about that. But the result - Yet Another Yankees Pennant - is somehow less dramatic, if only because it has been so commonplace of late. (With one recent notable exception.)

Is Zimmer really that cranked up about losing his company car? There must be more to it than that.
