Closer inspection of the brickwork showed us that it needed rebuilding if it were to be a structural part of the wall.

We didn't really have time to remortar all the brick so we decided to anchor the wall to the patio slab using 4x4s. We talked the client into the change by talking really fast and offering to buy lunch.

Food is a good distraction.
