About Me

or

Am I That Brad That You Knew Way Back When?

I attended Thompson Junior High School in Weatherford, Oklahoma from 1979-81. I was your basic dorky junior high social misfit and band geek.

I attended Weatherford High School (once again, in Weatherford, Oklahoma) from 1981-1984. I began my high school career (once again) as your basic social misfit band geek type, but by 1984 I was Head Band Geek, by nature of being Drum Major (or Field Commander, as I liked to call it). During this time period I started listening to a lot of Devo - a habit I have yet to break.

I moved to California during the summer of 1984 and attended Valencia High School in Placentia, CA from 1984-85. I was not able to climb to the top of the Band Geek ziggurat at VHS in my short time there, but I gave it my best shot.

I attended the University of California at Irvine from 1985-89, graduating with the degree of Bachelor of Science with a Major in Engineering, according to my diploma. (To be more specific, I majored in electrical engineering.)

After stints as a transformer designer (sadly, power transformers, not the robot toys), a theater/ride and show systems engineer, and a broadcast engineering consultant, I am now employed as a television systems engineer for a major cable broadcaster.

I live in the greater Los Angeles area, and have been married since 1994. My wife and I have two children - fraternal boy-girl twins - that were born in 1999.

My hobbies - not that I have a lot of time for them these days - include homebrewing and flyfishing.

Am I being unnecessarily vague? I can never tell.

Nice gloves. The cape is hard to make out but it's cooler.

Me at the zenith of my band geek career, in 1984. Two months after this picture was taken I was living in Southern California.
